How I Met Your Mother - HIMYM = HMILR

Barney, Robin, Ted, Marshal and Lily.

The first question that comes to your mind when you see the final scene of the last episode is, WHAT?? REALLY??

After watching some serious stuffs like Breaking Bad and GoT,  its time to watch some comedy series again. Since I have done with FRIENDS, I started Big Bang Theory, except Penny that series is not good at all or not even close to Friends, then tried Two and Half Men, it was okay, but all the episodes were almost similar. Then, I had only How I Met Your Mother in my HDD so started watching it alongside Dexter.

HIMYM impressed me more than other comedy series Big Bang and Two and Half Men so started watching it daily. I didn't even know this one was an ongoing series. I got much interested  in this so stopped Dexter and started watching it more than two episodes daily. The first reason, Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), she's so good, next reason is, this was close to Friends.

It was very similar to Friends in the beginning. Five friends hanging out together all the time instead of Central Perk coffee shop they hang out mostly at the McLaren's bar. Barney was more like Chandler and Joey combined. He is a playboy and nobody knows about his work. Ted and Robin's relationship was like Ross and Rachel's on and off across seasons. And, just like Rachel and Joey, Robin and Barney were also dating, but this is more serious and they even end up getting married in the last season.

One episode in the second season which I enjoyed the most is the 'Slapbet' between Barney and Marshal. And, this Slapbet continued till last season and it was absolutely hilarious. Among the characters, my favorite must be Barney, his characterization was like a mix of Chandler and Joey. Next is Robin, who was perfect company for Barney and she looks good and also acts good.

The last two seasons were boring, one season too many. So I got the feeling let it end rather than "oh no it's ending", which Friends gave.

Some of the best quotes from this series are, Robin's "The future is scary, but you can't run back to the past because its familiar. Yes its tempting, but its a mistake. Barney's "Legen...wait for it...dary", "New is always better". I wish I get a friend like Barney so we can play 'Haaaaaaave you met Karthic ?ЁЯШЬ'.

Coming back to that question WHAT and  REALLY at the end of this series is because How I Met Your Mother is actually Ted's, How Much I love Robin.

Yennai Arindhaal - 'Ajith' at his best

First thing first, I liked  the movie and it wasn't boring. Its so good to see 'Ajith' and not 'Thala' on screen in this movie after a long time. Kudos to GVM and Ajith as well for finally choosing some sensible script. I have seen it twice already, not because I liked it so much. I had a horrible experience when I watched first because of a stupid sound system in that theater. We literally didn't hear a thing for most parts of the movie. Actually I didn't understand the movie completely so I had to watch it again in a better theater.

GVM is back with a cop subject, who definitely needs a hit. Finally, he has directed a movie with Ajith, which should have happened much much earlier. And, after a long time he is back with his best buddy Harris, who always delivers his best with Gautam.

What worked in the movie is Ajith's screen presence and he's looking so good in salt and pepper style that even made an unmarried girl to fall for him, love at first sight. Trisha was drop-dead gorgeous. Only GVM can show her so beautiful. As usual the matured romance between Ajith and Trisha were refreshing to watch. Its been a while since I saw better romance in an action movie. We usually get to see some stupid romance scenes between the lead pair just because the movie has a female lead.

Arun Vijay was equally good in the last one hour. Who was able to grab the attention and he did his part very well. For that matter, every GVM's villain did that with so it was no surprise. Also, Eesha was really cute and liked her performance as well. Especially in that scene where Ajith brings Anushks to his home and she says, "Of-course, Appa". Even, Nasser's cameo is also a good touch.

And, another biggest plus for the movie is Harris. BGMs were terrific and all the songs as well. Credits should be given to Thamarai as well for her fantastic lyrics. GVM-Harris-Thamarai combo never disappoints. As usual GVM pictured every song neatly. Sad that they have removed "Maya Bazaar" song now.

Each and every episode was really good. Ajith as undercover, he was having so much fun dancing 'Adharu Udharu'. Then, a beautiful romance with Trisha which was neatly captured in 'Mazhai vara poguthe' song, next was Ajith as a father, it was the best part in this movie, especially 'Unakenna Venum' song. And, the final part where he gets back to be (ex)cop again which again has  another beautiful song 'Idhayathai Edho ondru'. Yes, the romance part reminds VV, the travel part reminds VA, and the end reminds KK.

Ajith always oscillates between that  'Mellisana Kodu' whether to become a cop or a gangster? Whether to go out and avenge Trisha's murder or to stay with his daughter? Whether to continue his job as a cop or to resign it? Whether to go out and help his friend to find his kidnapped daughter to stay back? Satyadev himself gets to know about him in each and every episode.

The negatives for me is Anushka's character, doesn't look like a female character in GVM's film. Also, that unwanted intro song for her which was really out of place. Also, too much of voice over, each and every character starts narrating the film. Anushka starts narrating, then its Ajith, Ajith's younger version, Ajith again, then Arun Vijay and ends with Ajith. No need for director's commentary when they release a dvd.

So overall, Yennai Arindhal is yet another GVM-style cop story, you get whatever you expect from his movies. This is how GVM's cop will be. Looking forward to the sequel to know what Satyadev's going to do next. Will he stay behind the line or go over for another episode, lets wait and watch, also a coffee is still pending with Anushka.

Rating - 3.5/5.0.
